The person next door

Today I saw a movie,
"The Black Hawk Down".
Not intentional,But just came across

It is a film by Ridley Scott, the renowned director
known for Gladiator & Hannibal..
Produced by acclaimed Jerry Bruckheimer
known for Pearl Harbor & Armagedon

The story based on a real incident
It goes like this..
In 1993,an elite group of American Rangers &
Delta Force soldiers are sent to Somalia to capture a
violent warload whose corrupt regime has lead to starvation
of hundreds of thousands of Somalis. When the mission goes
quickly and terribly wrong, the men find themselves
outnumbered and literally fighting for their lives..

I wondered at the technical perfection..
The battlefield scenario is depicted as it is..
The struggle of the brave soldiers is brought about clearly..
The importance of proper acoustics in a film is felt..
The film won two acdemy awards for
Best Sound and Best Film Editing

The film is giving the inspiration to increase our concern
for the man at the next door..

I should mention "The Hurt Locker" directed by Katheryn Bigelow
which sweeped six of the Academy Awards for 2010 including
Best Picture and Best Director for Bigelow,
who became the first woman to win the award.
The film also swept many of the 2010 BAFTA awards.
It is a masterpiece which tells the heart-touching story of a
United States Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team
during the Iraq War.
